Een mijlpaal voor Boeing en Air France. De vliegtuigbouwer leverde gisteren de zeventigste 777 aan de luchtvaartmaatschappij.
De Franse nationale luchtvaartmaatschappij speelde een grote rol in het succes van het 777-programma, en was de eerste afnemer van zowel de 777-300ER in 2004 als de 777 Freighter in 2009. Air France ontving in maart 1998 zijn allereerste 777-200ER.
Air France is onderdeel van de Air France-KLM Group, de op-één-na grootste 777-operator ter wereld. De onderneming heeft daarnaast nog orders uitstaan voor vijfentwintig 787 Dreamliners en lease-overeenkomsten voor nog eens twaalf 787’s.
