Emirates heeft de eerste vlucht uitgevoerd op de dagelijkse route naar Brussel.
Brussel-Dubai
De route Dubai-Brussel wordt uitgevoerd door een 777-200LR, het kleinste toestel van de Emirates vloot. Hiermee begint de maatschappij bijna altijd een nieuwe route. De vlucht wordt dagelijks uitgevoerd en dat betekent tot 16.000 stoelen per maand. De CEO van Brussels Airport zegt hierover:
“The arrival of Emirates in Brussels confirms the role that Brussels Airport plays in connecting Belgium and Europe with the rest of the world. We are pleased that Emirates has decided to link Dubai with the European Capital and that their Belgian and foreign passengers will enjoy the high quality of service offered by both Emirates and Brussels Airport. The launch of this daily service to Dubai will create 150 new on-site jobs”.

Voor Emirates is het de 145e bestemming wereldwijd en de 37e binnen Europa. Deze week is ook de 36e Eropese route geopend: Oslo. Emirates is de enige maatschappij die firstclass stoelen naar het verre oosten vanaf Brussel aanbiedt. Er werken 170 Belgen bij de maatschappij, een Belgische first officer vloog het toestel naar Zaventem.
Vlucht
Vlucht EK183 vertrekt om 07:50 van Dubai en arriveert om 13:15 op Brussel. De terugvlucht EK 184 vertrekt anderhalf uur later en komt aan om 23:25.
