Airbus doet goede zaken. Vandaag heeft Europese vliegtuigbouwer met drie Aziatische maatschappijen een contract gesloten.
Ten eerste zijn er 25 A320 family vliegtuigen verkocht aan BOC Aviation. BOC Aviation is de in Singapore gevestigde leasing afdeling van de Bank of China. De order bestaat uit 13 A320ceo en 12 A320neo vliegtuigen. De order van vandaag komt minder dan een jaar na de vorige order van maar liefst 50 A320 vliegtuigen.
Ten tweede. De nieuwe airline Qingdao Airlines heeft een contract getekend voor de aankoop van 23 A320’s.
“As a newly established airline, we need to have a thourough research before we make a decision on what aircraft to introduce to start operation and build up our brand new fleet. We pay much attention to the reliability, economics and cabin comfort of the aircraft and also take the potential for our further fleet expansion into consideration. We believe the Airbus A320 Family aircraft are the right choice,” said Xiao Liyuan, President of Qingdao Airlines.
Uiteraard is Airbus hier bijzonder blij mee, dat zegt ook de COO John Leahy:
“We welcome Qingdao Airlines as a new member of the big Airbus family,” said John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer Customers. “The selection of the Airbus A320 Family by Qingdao Airlines proves again the preference of the market for our efficient single aisle aircraft. With a proven track record of operational reliability and the lowest operational costs in its class, the Airbus A320 will play a key role in Qingdao Airlines’ sustainable development.”
En dan ten derde heeft Zhejiang Loong Airlines een luchtvaartmaatschappij gevestigd in Hongzhou, de hoofdstad van de provincie Zhejiang in Oost China, een Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) getekend voor 20 Airbus A320 Family aircrafts. Hieronder 11 A320ceo en 9 A320neo. Deze airline is recentelijk goed gekeurd door de Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) om passagiersvluchten te mogen uitvoeren. Ook deze startende airline kiest vol overtuiging voor de A320.
“The Airbus A320 Family aircraft is ideal for start up airlines with clear advantages in operational reliability, economics, cabin space and its commonality between different types of Airbus aircraft, which will help operators to reduce cost on training and maintenance,” said Liu Qihong, Chairman of Zhejiang Loong Airlines. “I believe the Airbus A320 aircraft will help us to achieve the goal of building intensive domestic and international networks around Hangzhou”.
Airbus voegt hier nog het volgende aan toe. The A320 Family is the world’s best-selling and most modern single aisle aircraft Family. To date, more than to 9,800 A320 Family aircraft have been ordered and over 5,700 delivered to nearly 390 customers and operators worldwide.
Dat brengt de teller op 68 kisten! Op deze manier gaat de voorspelling van Airbus van 29.000 vliegtuigen natuurlijk de goede kant op.
UPDATE: En VietjetAir heeft ook een memorandum of understanding getekend voor de levering van 92 (!) A 320’s.
